Volunteers in the Drop-In Centre

Without volunteers the Basement Project would not be able to help and support as many young people as it does. We need YOU!!!

Why Volunteer?

  • It is a great opportunity to gain/develop skills, knowledge and confidence.
  • As a volunteer at the Basement Project you will be a valued member of our team getting involved with the day to day running of the centre.
  • We offer free training and travel expenses are paid.

How do I apply?

If you have a few hours a week to spare, want to meet and help young people, we would love to hear from you.

Awards For All Project

We currently have opportunities for young people who want to volunteer as part of this project (funded by the National Lottery Fund) to work on the Allotment, or in the schools advisory programme or work as part of our youth committee.

The hope is that this volunteering could provide new skills training and experience which may lead to paid employment later. Apart from a bit of time, what have you got to lose?

For more information contact the Basement on 01527 832993.

We have a vacancy for a Trustee

Would you be interested in becoming a Trustee? We have a vacancy for a Trustee to join the Management Board who can bring relevant experience to assist the other members of the Board.

We would especially like to hear from possible Trustees with experience in Human Resources or working in the sectors of homelessness, the provision of housing or who have had training in counselling. Any other business experience (i.e. marketing, finance, admin) would also be welcome.

We have 8 management meetings per annum which take about 1-2 hours 6 are during the daytime and 2 in the evening. This is a great opportunity to get involved and support the excellent work of this charity in Bromsgrove.

If you would like to know more about what is involved please email our Chair, Ann Holmes at mnholmes@waitrose.com

We have a vacancy for a Volunteer Cleaner

Would you be interested in helping young people by becoming an active volunteer in the Basement?

We need a volunteer cleaner to spend a few hours a week – perhaps two mornings of an hour or hour and a half, preferable first thing, e.g. at about 8 am, to do light cleaning in the offices, the adjacent shower room, kitchen and toilet.

This will help ensure a clean and friendly environment for both our staff, volunteers and clients when they need to use our services.

This is so important especially for clients who have no home of their own. We need them to feel welcome and that the place they use for washing etc is clean and well looked after.

If you can help please contact Lance Crabb at lance.crabb@basementproject.org.uk
